Publiz vs Buffer
Buffer is the tool Publiz is closest to on workflow, and furthest from on billing. Buffer prices per channel. A Publiz plan is a flat price with workspaces included, so the tenth account costs the same as the second, which is nothing.
Same job, both prices
Three brands with an account on each network we support. On Buffer every one of those is a billable channel. On Publiz they sit inside three workspaces. Buffer publishes $6 per channel and says channels past the tenth cost less without saying how much less, so the figure here uses their lower annual rate for every channel. The real monthly number is higher than what you see.
Prices from Buffer's own pricing page, checked September 2026.

Who should switch, and who should not
Move to Publiz if
- You run more than a handful of channels and the per-channel line on your invoice keeps growing.
- You want real AI generation rather than a writing assistant, or you want to plug in your own model key.
- You need a REST API and webhooks to wire publishing into something else you run.
Stay on Buffer if
- You run one or two channels. At that size Buffer costs less than we do and the per-channel model works in your favour.
- Instagram or Facebook is where you actually publish. On Publiz they are coming soon, once Meta approves our app.
- You lean on Buffer integrations and browser extensions. Their ecosystem is older and wider than ours.
Questions
For scheduling and publishing, close to it. The composer, the queue and the calendar do the same job. Two gaps to know about: Instagram, Facebook and Threads are coming soon (waiting on approval from Meta), and Buffer keeps a longer analytics history than our lower plans do.
There is no importer today. The practical path is to let your Buffer queue drain while you build the new one in Publiz, then switch once the calendar looks right.
Other comparisons
Publiz vs Publer
Publer is the low-price option in this space, and for one or two accounts it earns that. It bills per social account though, so the price climbs with every profile you connect. Publiz bills per workspace, and the accounts inside it cost nothing extra.
See the comparisonPubliz vs Later
Later bundles one profile per network into a social set, which is the same shape as a Publiz workspace. That makes this the cleanest comparison of the set, because neither side has to be converted into the other.
See the comparisonPubliz vs Hootsuite
Hootsuite sells a suite: social listening, approval chains, team governance. Publiz sells publishing with AI attached. If you need the suite, the price gap is not the argument. If you only publish, it is the whole argument.
