Publiz vs Hootsuite

Hootsuite sells a suite: social listening, approval chains, team governance. Publiz sells publishing with AI attached. If you need the suite, the price gap is not the argument. If you only publish, it is the whole argument.

Same job, both prices

Publiz Creator
$24 /mo
Hootsuite Professional
$199 /mo
Unlimited accounts, 1 seat

One person managing three brands. Hootsuite bills per seat, so account count is not what drives their price, headcount is. Their entry Standard plan caps at ten accounts, which three brands across every network we support exceeds, so Professional is the first plan that fits.

Prices from Hootsuite's own pricing page, checked September 2026.

Who should switch, and who should not

Move to Publiz if

  • You are paying enterprise prices for what is really a scheduling habit.
  • Your team keeps growing and every new person costs another seat.
  • You want AI help with captions, ideas and first comments, and to pay for it by what you use.

Stay on Hootsuite if

  • You need social listening. Publiz does not do it and is not planning to.
  • Posts have to clear an approval chain before they publish. We have roles and permissions, not approval workflows.
  • You are in a regulated industry that needs their audit and compliance tooling.

Questions

No. Publiz has workspaces with role-based permissions, so you control who can publish, but there is no queue where a draft waits for someone to sign it off. If that is a hard requirement, stay where you are.

It stays with them. Publiz starts collecting from the day you connect an account, and how far back you can look depends on your plan. Export anything you need to keep before you close the account.
